Good motorcycle boots?

Anyone tried these boots out?? Thinking of buying them.Check out the tread in the arches for ladders.That would work well for foot pegs, I think.

A friend of mine gets something like this in his job in a anti riot squad inside a max security gaol. He loves riding in them.
Any idea how much those ones cost Hippo,my friend reckons the govt pay $400+ for his?

Boots are no good on a MC if they can come easily in a crash, which is what turns me off cowboy boots,Johnny Reb boots and those engineers boots.The boots I posted about come off real quick and easy as they have a side zipper, but are snug when the zip is done up with the laces tightened to your preference.All the firemen and Ambos (EMT's) use similar boots down ere.

Boots coming off is a real problem. Those ones I bought have a zip and a velcro flap.

Ambos i know who have those boots with the angled zip have found the zip has failed.The vertical zips seem to fair better.

I had mine custom made by Z Custom Leathers in California. Spent about $200.00 USD and have been using them for 12 years. No complaints.

Those look good.

We think there is much to commend a "lace up" w/zipper for easy on/off. We recently purchased a pair of HD "FXRG" lace ups and frankly we are disappointed with them. They are super comfortable but don't seem to be holding up very well. Soles look good but outters look years old already, and we are not very hard on them (although we do wear them daily for work and play). For $200 USD, we expected them to be more durable. Shoulda gone with our usual Red Wings. That's what we get for shopping at the HD store. On the bright side, the little pixy that sold the boots to us was a looker.

We trudge on.

I've been buying boot from these guys for 30 years. They were also my dad's choice when he needed a pair to go set logging chokers in the woods when he was just out of high school. It helps to have their factory down the road in Portland where you can get discontinued and seconds for cheap.

I have 2 pair of Sidis, one B2 and one Rain model (can't remember which) and am very happy with them. The B2s in particular are light, all day comfortable, supportive, and have had no issues in 4+ years. Since I wear a 15, motorcycle specific boots cost no more than a compromise boot for me and I take comfort in wearing something designed for the job. YMMV Sidi sells a lot of "normal" appearing boots so you don't have to do the whole Power Ranger look.
Are you concerned at all about this particular model hanging up on the pegs when you need to get your feet down in a hurry, or increasing the effort needed to use the foot controls?
