Good choice for crash bars for my 23 GT

I did see those, but they are out of stock in a way that makes it seem long term or permanent.
Bought these T-Rex bars and front wheel sliders for my GT when they were in-stock in February. Relatively simple installation with T-Rex steps video. Had to re-use OEM bolts to make room for shifter to work freely. You will likely have to adjust the shifter position (as bars add a bit of “thickness”) so expect a round of disassembling. Securing left and right sides with a bolt at the bottom of the radiator was painful. The bars are rock solid but visually on a thinner side relative to the bike. Front wheel sliders are ok. They seal axils from water and dirt buildup (clean and lube before installing the sliders) which is nice. The axils cap just snaps off with a screwdriver (wrap it in a rag so not to scratch the cap). I would get sliders for the rear wheel too. Wonder if someone figured this out. The whole point of these bars and sliders, in my view, is to give me some room between the heavy bike and the surface if I were to go down, and only then and maybe protect the bike.

wondering if adding bars is counter intuitive because they are bolted to engine and thats what we are trying to save, so all the force will be transferred to engine casing

I'd want ones on the thinner side. So they bend, but absorb some impact.... like a crumple zone

With bike’s weight, they will likely bend to some extent. Also, these bars curve forward towards the radiator. Makes me think they may have a better chance not pinning my leg into the bike. I am trying to save myself first, and if it also saves the bike that’s good, if it doesn’t and makes it worse so be it
