Remember me, the guy who was always making something for his R3T. I made and sold a lot of those wind deflectors that fit on your windshield among other things. Well, I've decided to get at it with my new R3GT. I have a Madstad windshield on my bike, but I'm getting a lot of airflow coming up from around my turn signals and front forks. I decided to experiment with a little lower project to see if I could cut some of it back. What you see here are... some fork clamps I bought, some cover plates, "my old leftover R3T lowers" that I I had laying around, and some fastening arms I fabricated out of some 1/8th X 3/4 in aluminum. The fork clamps are 58mm which is what the forks measure, but I find them to be a little bit of a tight fit. I have some 60mm's on order to see if they are a better fit. THIS IS NOT THE FINAL LOWER, but you get the idea. Lots of painting to do, a pattern that I more than likely will use (pictured), and nicer screws. A note on the pattern...I have a cutaway on the pattern for the turn signals, but I may not need it. I'm just using my old lowers for testing. I don't want to muck my bike up, but I think they will fit in pretty good. And NO, I do not want to make these for people. 🤣🤣 Those little arms are a pain to make.

I wonder, if they fail, say, a wind will move them back forcefully, this may prevent the handlebars turn.

Nope, it won't happen. It's a very solid setup and secondly they will be mounted forward and in front of the turn signals not behind. Clearance is not an issue.
