Getting my bike Dyno'd today.

Good stuff, wish there were some dealers over in Perth that didn't need PC or Tuneboy to zero the bike in on the Dyno.

Think i'd still go PCV/AT, if I can get my hands on Hanso's AFR tables just purely for the convenience and saving $$$ in the long run if I decide to mess around with performance mods down the track. Waiting for pipes from Sam and have the Triple K&Ns sitting here till I make the call.

If you've got the PCV still late next week I might buy the PCV off you..

Cheers,
Dean

Not a problem Dean. I'll sit on it till then for ya.
Haven't advertised it anywhere so it's not going anywhere in a hurry.

cobba, thats a nice bit of kit. well done brother.

I'm getting the same out of my tyre so i think your spot on.

mate, if you can create stuff that nice you might just getting flogged with requests from fellow rocketeers.

oh and if anyone else wants a PCV mine is currently coming out of mine when it gets back from Neville Lush. I'll also have a set of tors and standard headers that i won't need as am having my custom set installed.

will set up another thread so I'm not hijacking your thread as i think you deserve lots of credit for some great work.

Not hijacking at all mate. Actually pricked my ears as to what you're doing with yours.
Read awhile ago where you were talking about your new pipes. Love to see some close up pics of them some time before I start building mine.

As for getting flooded with requests, well not many so far have shown much interest in having something like it for themselves.
Mind you, it's awhile away before I get it exactly right and even concider doing a production run.
Have already spent a fair bit of cash getting to this stage.
By the time I build Mkiii and get another dyno run in I'm gunna be about $1200 and 50 hours labour in debt to it so it better make that top line on the dyno look good.

Keep me in mind, mate.

Cobba nice set up who did the tube work as id love that set up on mine with the single K&N

Made it myself and thinking about marketing them when I get it perfected.
I'm quietly confident I can improve on the top end HP with a few changes and version 3 is already on the drawing board.

There's a pre version of this one that looks very similer but uses a different filter.
I'd sell that as is for cost price to anyone interested, but I'd rather it stay here in Oz in case I need to get hold of it for information down the track.

Will start a new thread on it all if and when I decide to go into production.
That'll be much later in the year if it ever happens.

Well it was kinda nice having Cobba (RIP) have the last say on this thread but I think this is appropriate. As I mentioned elsewhere, I am fortunate enough to be in possession of the original prototype (or pre version as Cobba called it) and I have today fitted it to my bike.

It works just fine. In fact, feels pretty much exactly how the dyno results came on Mk II, ie. it feels stronger low down and in the mid range and gets breathless at about 6000 rpm. Actually that's not quite right; not breathless, just stops feeling stronger. I haven't changed any of the settings on my Dobeck yet, mainly because it didn't give any indication of running leaner than the triples. I'll do some playing with it over the next few days and probably (thanks Hanso) add some fuel to the open throttle setting and see how that feels. But for now I'm stoked.

The rubber mounts could be shortened an inch or so and I'll also be putting on a drastically trimmed bear claw to fill in the space - once I get another one as I'm very happy with the way I'd cut mine for the triples and don't want to wreck that.

I'm looking for someone locally who might be able to help realise Cobba's vision. If I can, and if there's interest from others in them, I reckon it would be great to see any money made going directly back to Cobba's family.

So, what do you reckon?

That's real nice Richard, I think Cobba (RIP) was really on to something.

Further my text earlier I think you will also find that the breathless feeling is due to the smaller filter Cobba had to use on that version as he had a bigger K&N but was forced to use that smaller one due the K&N hitting the left indicator, now from memory he and I discussed ways around it one being to move the indicators but like myself he liked the front Triumph indicators and only replaced the back ones with smaller units the alternative was to make a new version (as we know he did) but with emphasis on keeping it shorter at the front, here is a couple of suggestions Richard 1 you say the rubber sleeve could be shorter how about if you make the back shorter the middle one a a tad longer so the whole unit just angles out a little to give the extra clearance 2 see if there is a K&N with a lager opening and cut the front of the intake a little shorter ( Cobba didn't want to do that as he already had paid the Aussie rip off price for his K&N ) or 3 see if K&N make an extreme version that would be similar to the Caliber one on there but has an open filter surface on front similar to mine but with the same shape, the Caliber brand filter on there was as Cobba himself e said just a cheap K&N knock off and possibly would not allow as much air thru as a K&N the same size,
I just thought I would mention this as it was stuff Cobba and I discussed over a couple of my bourbons on the friday nite at Phillip Island
I'm glad you phoned Robyn to thank her, she is a loverly woman and she and the kids treated me like one of the family when I was there the other week.

If you give me a little time to get myself sorted in the garage (rearranging every thing to make a dedicated welding area in side instead of always welding out on the driveway) and we can look at making up some of them to sell I will donate my time and we can make them at reasonable price withe the balance after the cost going back to Robyn and the kids
