Getting my bike Dyno'd today.

The first one you showed me looked good this one is even better.
Did he say why you should not use PCV

Didn't have an issue with PC, just that he could achieve the same result without adding an extra controller.
He did have a few negative comments on the Auto tune saying that it created as many program mistakes as it fixed.
The tables could take big jumps from a + to - in one step with the program trying to compensate for it's previous setting, but I reckon your program would have it trimmed up pretty close and the ATs adjustments would then only be minimal.
TBH, I wasn't going to start an argument with a man I was getting to tune my bike over something that I didn't know anything about. Bit pointless I thought so I just went with the flow.

If he's good enough for BMW and KTM's works teams to be placed as head mechanic then I'm not going to start questioning him on his expertise.

Yeah there isnt many dyno places around that know how to work with the standard ecu that is why most people opt for the power comander but if you have a guy that can then you save yourself alot of money. I think with the big hp bikes over 220 hp they need to go power comander to control the fuel though not sure of the details did read something on here about it once and injector size was also only good up to a certain point also . But i dont think we need to worry about that with just a few intake/exhaust mods its more relevant to the guys upgrading the internal stuff.

Same thing my dyno guy said Cobba he reckons that the AT is a great idea but better
suited to harleys and also said they are great in theory but can cause dramas if they jump in adjustment to far.
I think they are a great idea also but my honest opinion is a custom dyno map for your individual bike is always going to be best
Im definitely happy with my bike since it was dynod plenty of torque/power and its still great on fuel never pops on decel ever and is really smooth. Obviously you could create even more power with richer map but im very happy as i got exactly what i asked and payed for. a great ballance of torque hp and economy.

Actually Mitch, I'm pretty keen for a good long fang on it to see just how good he got it.

Cost me $350 to get done but I was lucky enough that his VagCom lead failed on him and I got to go back with mine for him to use and stick around while he did it.

Quite interesting to watch and learn. Once he got the full noise bit pretty close he then spent another hour refining it at 75, 50 and 25% power, then trimmed it up for good economy at road speed around 100 to 120K mark.

I can't wait to get a spare few hours and run a tank of fuel thru it and see just how much it has improved. At the mo I can only get 300Ks out of a tank so I'm looking for fuel at 250ish. That sux, literally.

Got an unused PCv for sale to any Aussies interested. $300 plus postage.

Tell ya what. He wore about 500Ks of rubber off the back tyre doin it too.

Got me screwed how some guys are getting 8000 miles or more out of a Metzeler. I've only got half of that.
I've got a second gear issue so it never gets cane'd down low in the first 2 gears and I'm not an agressive rider by the standards of a lot of guys. Still got a little chicken strip on the sides.
This tyre is down to the last bit of centre tread line now and only done 6,800 Ks. That's 4250 Miles. P!ss poor in my book, and at $475 fitted, not good for 4 months of riding.:(

Im getting about 280k out of a tank with my map so thats not to bad

Yeah cobba im only getting about that on a rear also mate but i gotta tell ya they are screwing ya on the tire  im getting metz fitted for $385 at brisbane motorcycle tires. Congrats on the result mate saved ya a bit of coin not having to use the pcv and your filter setup looks sweet  look forward to seeing it up close at some point.

Good stuff, wish there were some dealers over in Perth that didn't need PC or Tuneboy to zero the bike in on the Dyno.

Think i'd still go PCV/AT, if I can get my hands on Hanso's AFR tables just purely for the convenience and saving $$$ in the long run if I decide to mess around with performance mods down the track. Waiting for pipes from Sam and have the Triple K&Ns sitting here till I make the call.

If you've got the PCV still late next week I might buy the PCV off you..

Cheers,
Dean
