Just wanted to let make everyone aware... While looking around trying to decide how I'm gonna make my new to me Rocket more comfortable, one of my friends turned me to this guy...

www.gelseat.com

My friend has had 2 seats done by him and was well pleased.

He can't make your current seat any bigger (he does not recover seats) but what he does is add gel and/or memory foam to your current seat and will sculpt to your liking. You can ship seat to him (with one day turnaround) or make an appointment to take seat and/or bike to him and wait while it is done. Located in Winchester, VA with good website with phone and address.

Priced me $100-$125 to do rear pillion seat. FYI

Another option for your comfort.

MD, if you want more height, find any local upholstery shop, and have them add padding and recover entire seat..

OR add a gel pad and sheepskin or similar that sits on top, one of the things I like about my sheepsking is it adds a little bit of height.

I appreciate the information on this company. 8)

Could he make the seat "taller?" I think I need to raise my seat an inch...
Dave, if you like, I'll be stopping at his place on my way back to look at his sheepskin covers. I can get him to look at mine and make a call for you.

It takes them about an hour or so to install one. Velcro straps are used to hold it on. I'll have more details when I stop there on my on my way back

MD should think twice about a gel seat.... It will absorb major league heat in the Miami sun... The incremental comfort isn't worth it...

Mike...

Glad I could help after all the good direction I've received in my short time here.

Let me know how you make out there Gr3ywolf.

+1

I bought a saddleman gel seat for my honda.. rode it for about 3 days and sent it back.. the sun in sunny socal did a nice job of heating up the gel in the seat. very uncomfortable..

I went to a Corbin they use the memory foam type.. I really liked that seat... very firm but worked pretty nice on long rides..

Im still concidering another corbin for my RIII
