Gears not engaging, after being rough with the gear shifter.

Another way, if you're not in a hurry, is to do the work yourself, without a lift or friends. You'll need a rack to store all the motorcycle part
I ’ve got at least 7 days to dedicate to the bike, and a buddy is letting me use his one-car garage. I figure that’s plenty of space. What’s stressing me more is the teardown—pulling the engine and getting everything apart. I know I’ll need a lift and a crane, but is there anything else I should have ready?

you will have to block the engine then lift the bike frame.
1st remove the oil sending sensor (at the back and the right side of block)
a beam, a swing set, a cherry picker and a good come along,
I need to take apart the front wheel (forks, handlebar etc) and rear wheel or I can lift the bike with the wheels?

The front part does not need to be disassembled. The rear part, including the rear swingarm, wheel, fender, and air filter box (to release the wires from the bottom of the engine), must be removed
