Hello, when it comes to after market exhaust for the R3C or the R3, i have installed on mine the 3 to 2 RAASK full exhaust system about 6 months ago or so with the power commander computer and let me tell you.... that system is great, the product is nicely build, the chrome is excellent and the sound... very nice, that said the sound is not obnoxious (the R3 is not a Harley) but what a sound, deep, very nice.
The nice thing about that system is that if you're not ready to invest (+- $1100 with shipping from Sweden i actually dealt with Sivert RAASK directly in Sweden by calling him instead of going thru i think 2 companies in the states that sells that system since they both were about $500 more expensive, dealing with RAASK directly i was able to get a bit of a discount and I'm all about getting a deal when i can.) Anyway the nice thing is that you can get the 3 to 1 to begin with and then later on, you can purchase the other pipe that will make it 3 to 2, going that route will be cheaper at first, the same price in the end but if you're not ready to spend the whole amount at first it's a way to go, i bought the 3 to 2 right away since i think aesthetic wise it beats the 3 to 1 (of course that's a matter of taste and I'm talking about what i think..)
The system was fairly easy to install, (even though the directions are not very good) the ONLY draw back is the heat shield (i will post some pictures later so you know what I'm talking about) on the right side somewhere in the lower middle, right behind the floor boards there is a chrome heat shield that is held with a clamp, the problem I've had is that the lip on the inside of that shield is welded facing up and only one lip which means that when you tight the clamp and with vibrations that shield slips back and has a tendency to come of, it happened a couple of time but i was able to catch it before it fell of, unfortunately a couple of weeks ago it fell of and the chrome got some scratches, i was really annoyed by this since i had the feeling it would happened, so i email RAASK and told him that i thought there was a flow in the design and that a simple way to remedy that problem would be to weld the lip facing down and even better weld two lips on the inside of the shield, i told him that i apologized about thinking it was a flow and since I'm not the designer of the system my position was not to judge the design but that common sense was my reason, he took it well and was not offended, he told me that no one had that problem with the shield before but never the less he was going to send me another shield with my request and weld the lip facing down, so I'm waiting for the new shield and i hope that will fix the little problem, otherwise that exhaust is great, it looks nice and it sounds incredible.
I cannot compare it with the other few full systems available on the market for the R3 but i can definitely say that the RAASK is great, performance wise the throttle response is much sharper than when i had the stock which i did not keep very long at all, i have mapped the power commander with the 3 to 2 jardine map since that was the closest map available and it works fine, i have not put the bike on a dyno to get the numbers but I've been thinking of doing that in the near future, one last thing about that system, the discoloration of the headers, especially N#1 cylinder, it doesn't bother me at all but for purist i just put it out there. I also told RAASK about it and he said that he was aware of it but told me that the N#1 was the one that would be darker since the bend in at a slightly higher angle than the 2 others, hopefully he will find a way to solve that, anyway i just thought i put it out there for guys who are thinking about a full exhaust system that looks great and sound fantastic!
