Sorry if this seems trivial, but what is the proper way to remove the electrical plug from the bottom of the 2006 R3 classic fuel tank. I have the tank propped up on the front end, both vent lines disconnected, and the fuel line disconnected, so all that remains to removal, is this little pain in the arse plug. It looks like more than pushing up on the bottom tab. There also looks like there are two engagement tabs (one on each side) that need to be pushed in at the same time? That makes 3 tabs and only two hands available at the moment. Any help appreciated,

Bobby C

Use needle nose pliers and just grab the entire plug while squeezing that bottom tab upwards with the pliers. You'll have to try and wiggle that plug outwards with the pliers while you depress that tab; no other engagement tabs need to be worried about. It IS a very tight connection, but it can be undone as I just mentioned.

I had just undone the same connection a week ago; as I have replaced my fuel filter inside the tank so this was the second time I've gone through that pain in the ass connector. Just be firm but not too rugged with the pliers and it will wiggle free.
