I got into the mid 40s a couple of times when I had my R3T. It was on casual rides with a bunch of my Harley riding friends and speeds were at an average of 60 mph give or take a little. But again, the norm for my bike was a pretty consistent 38. That's pretty **** good mileage for a bike as large as the Rocket. That puts the range right at 225 miles. My Thunderbird has the same size tank. It has approximately a 700 cc smaller engine and the range on it is right at 250 miles so far. I checked the mileage on it and it's getting almost 42 mpg. Of course, it's not broke in yet (has about 550 miles on it). I put 202 miles on the last tank before stopping for gas.

p.s. I'd highly recommend NOT letting your tank get down below having about a 1/2 gallon or so as I've heard it's not good on the fuel pump; that's what I've been told about cars all my life anyway. I assume it's the same for bikes.

I agree. I'm happy with getting mid-30's MPG, taking into account the size of this big girl!

went on a 250 miles this weekend, I got 44 mpg. stayed down under 80 most of the ride, I think it helped that I also stayed off the thottle a lot. GF got 37 on her harley, which is backwords for us. she is normaly up in the 40's and I am down in the upper 30's.

will be interesting to see how we do this july when we take the bikes to michigan for brothers imprisonment.

Me and the wife checked ours the other day.
We both got 22MPG.
Well, actually I got 22.0 and she got 22.1 MPG.
Same mileage, same ride, same roads.
87 octane and about half of the miles was on two lane.
The other half was highway with short bursts of triple digits.

ok, not over 3 to 4 mile bursts at a time.;)
Then we'd slow down to around 90 for a few miles, then play some more.
We did that a "few" times.:D
She don't like to go fast, thats why she has her own bike,
so she can ride her own ride, and I can ride mine.

08 Standard, triple K&Ns cutout claw, jardine exhaust, tuneboy: 27 to 29 mpg. with me and the girlfriend on! average 75mph with many WOT at 140mph! satisfied with the mileage with how I ride and size of Bike! :)

I managed to get 38MPG out of my bike in mix riding this weekend in the white mountains of NH. I am happy as this better than my other bike got. Plus the bike only has 500 miles on it so far. I figure I can get to 40mpg once she is broken in and if I don't ride like a mad man...
