The Mahle KL145 is the correct filter to use because it has the right specification for proper filtering and flow. It can be found for $18 to $30 depending on where you look.

Buy both the wix and the mahle then use the hoses and clamps that come with the wix and throw away the wix filter. Still way way cheaper than buying the clamps and submersible hoses separate.

I ordered the Napa Gold and the Wix filters from Amazon. After seeing them together today and studying them in detail I see they are identical in every detail except for "NAPA" printed on one and "WIX" on the other. Then I studied the boxes and there plain as day on the NAPA box in very small print it says, " Manufactured by the WIX Filtration Corp." Guess that explains why the product numbers are nearly identical. Seems to me I have seen both positive and negative comments about using the WIX filter but nothing negative about the NAPA filter that I recall........?  :cautious: :banghead:
