There is a cut off on top speed , as well as a power restriction in first couple of gears , get a tuneboy to eliminate these annoyances

hey skullrider51, welcome to the forum. Have you introduced yourself yet at the Meet the Members? What part of PA are you from? :)

The large flywheel gives the R3 its torque which allows for the quick acceleration you feel on this 800lb bike.... You don't want a cruiser to start making power around 10-12K rpm like a ****** rocket... Not that kind of ride.... The flywheel, being that it sits below the line between the two axles also gives the R3 its low center of gravity and it along with the wide tire helps provide its exceptional handling characteristics for a cruiser class machine... Come to the PA Salvo in mid-Sept at Wellsboro... You will see what I mean..

Welcome to the forum,

Mike...

Right you are! and Welcome. Tuneboy is a quick easy way to unleash the beast. HOWEVER the rods are this 'sintered' material, forged from pellets of metal weighted out before pressing in a mold, and the end cap is then snapped off, leaving a unique matting surface that is rough like a slump stone concrete block. Allows closely balanced rods to be made cheap and quick, and you can't mix the end caps accidently. You also can't take these rods to high on the RPM confidently. (Rods are available from NEV in Australia when you are ready for your first big rebuild). But don't worry, when you get the secondaries open you will have a grin on your face that will last for years. And nobody on this forum that I am aware of has worn out a motor on this beast yet. And some of these guys ride a lot, and some ride a lot and fast!
