have a set of Fournales magnum rear shocks fitted to 06 R3 ,i am around 110kg and wondering what inflation pressure guys are running both solo and with a pillion

Fournales. I bought them direct from the factory in France. I have the Aluminium "Harley" shocks - at their recommendation. Cheaper too. I tried to get them to make me a set of "Air Spring" fork cartridges but could not persuade them.

If I had to put new rears on now - I would go straight to DMX as they're local and would make them bespoke for my weight etc. Next year they'll be making forks from scratch too. My Guzzi may be a test subject.

By non-adjustable - you mean Preload I guess. Me too. I've had to back the rebound damping off a bit. Just sitting more upright meant 1/2 less. So they are sensitive. I have Fournales on the rear (they carry varying load well) - but I'd now be tempted to have Maxton rears too. Mine came with 1kg/mm springs with a 30mm preload. I may get my local suspension guy to fit me slightly stronger springs with a bit less preload. Same static ride height but a wee bit more rising rate. Maybe 10 or 15% more. Or progressive rate springs. We'll see.

I love air shocks. I had S&W on my distance Guzzi in the early '80's

17BAR TOTALLY UNLOADED IN GARAGE AT ABOUT 20°C. I am 85kgish. The absolute max recommended by Fournales is 19BAR. But at 19bar they are HARD. I tried 18 once and they were horrid. I have the alloy ones which run slightly less pressurized - the magnums run 0.5-1 bar higher.

When my missus gets on the back - I don't need to touch them. Fully loaded with missus for LONG HIGH SPEED FOR HOURS NON STOP - maybe 0,5bar more. One thing to note is that airshocks PREFER to run on less static sag. They should just top out on the sidestand and sag maybe 1/4" brought upright - no weight on seat.

It can feel odd the ride feels hard if the shocks are low on air. Bottoming out is near impossible . AIR does not suffer from spring bind. The seals will blow well before they are close to solid.

Also bear in mind that Fournales damping is affected by the air pressure. And they are well damped.

I ran mine between 18 and 19 bar but then I am also 115kg striped naked I loved them and would have kept them but I wanted an extra inch in height to give more ground clearance under the pegs, the only nuisance was that to set them correctly you need to have rear wheel of the ground so they are totally unloaded

I ordered mine DIRECT from France - Fournales

2016 prices on their .pdf file are Euro660 for Classic like @barbagris and Euro725 for the Magnums.

I went for the Alloy classics (685 on that price sheet) because I knew mine would be hidden behind fixed hard cases and awkward to clean - but the Magnums will be a wee bit smoother. Fournales suggest MAGNUMS for the R3. When I explained my interest in the alloy they quickly explained the difference. Was my choice. If you want absolute botty caressing - MAGNUMS.
