Florida Rocket Riders...wanna meet up?

If I can get my garage built soon I may be down over the summer to move a bike or two down, let you know.

We can set it up as just a R3 meet-up (lunch, etc.), a nice ride or even a minor Tech Day.

Whatever the Rocket Scientists prefer.

And like PreStaged, I can pretty much meet up anywhere in Florida

Now that the heat and humidity are being replaced by blue-haired snowbirds, who wants to meet up for a ride some weekend?

I’ve been exploring the country roads south east of Tampa and can host a solid 1/2 ride in this area for interested Rocket Riders. Would include some dang fine BBQ in th middle of BFE.

I am open to a weekend ride. I am about an hour north of Tampa. There are a lot of good roads to the north, south, and east of me. I used to lead rides for riders in my church for a few years and have a number of rides laid out. If we were to meet in Brooksville, Dade City, Zephyrhills, or Lakeland, there are any number of good rides we can go, depending on how long everyone wanted to ride. Give me some starting and/or ending points and I will post a number of rides from which we could choose.

I’m looking at some east of Tampa country backroads. Some call it the Tail of the Gecko combined with the Mines Roads.

If we meet in and depart from Ruskin, we’d cover towns such as Wimauma, Baum, Ft. Lonesome, Agricola, Bradley Junction, Mulberry and Pierce. This is truly “Old Florida.” Lots of phosphate mining in that area.

We can continue north on Bonnie Mines Road until we hit the 60, then turn south on the 555 right before Bartow and ride through some nice countryside until we reach the 630.

We go east until we hit Highway 17/98 and ride south through the small towns of Historic Fort Meade and Bowling Green where we stop to to eat at Smokin’ Joe’s BBQ before reaching Wachula. If we take the 62
across toward Parrish at Hwy 301 instead of continuing down the 17 to Zolfo Springs and Hwy 64, we will end up at Sun City Center a tHighway 75.

This would be a nice ride with little traffic, great weather and miles and miles of farmland and citrus orchards The entire ride will take about 3 1/2 hours for the 110-mile loop.

I’ve attached a couple ideas and a recent loop I rode from Ruskin where Highway 75 and Route 674 meet.
