Get an optimate charger, these not only charge the battery but cycle it by discharging and then recharging which keeps the battery in good condition and it will last for years. They are especially useful if the bike is going to be sat for a couple of weeks/months at a time with no use and also prevents it from discharging to levels that damage the structure. In warmer climates this is not as necessary but in the UK...Yeah, go for it!!

That's what came with my 3T but I'd never heard of it and have always used Battery Tenders. The previous owner kept it on the Optimate year around. It's good to know that I have a worthwhile charger. The battery was 8 years old but it started right up and got me home from the seller's house. I still replaced the battery within a few days.

I don't keep a tender attached. But If I know I wont use it for more than a week - I attach one - I use a Genius as it supports LeadAcid and Lithium.

I use a Battery Tender brand as it is a smart charger and you can leave plugged in. It has a 2 pin flat quick disconnect SAE plug. Most of the good tenders use same plug so can easily move between vehicles

I've had three battery tenders go bad on me over the years. I'll stick with the Optimate as it does so much more and actually lasts like it should. No more battery tenders for me.

In spite of its price, the Optimate is the way to go...you won't be disappointed.

The Tender I'm using is 10 years old and good going fine..

Point is don't get a cheap battery charger get one that can monitor charge and keep battery alive..
