First Real Ride with my Carpenter Head and Cam

Be careful in 1st or 2nd, especially on a cold road, it will smoke the rear wheel at 60 or 70, before you realize what's happening. DAMHIK.

^^ Exactly why I was being very ginger with her today, with temps so low even a non-carp R3 could easily have 1st/2nd gear traction issues.

YES its intoxicating cruising on the big Silverback with all that smooooth power and wonderful sound Im happy to see your out there enjoying yourself have fun and be careful .

It's a delicate dance between rear wheel traction and keeping that front wheel in contact with the road as you get on the cams approaching 5500 RPM, as you well know, Claviger, so learning to control both yourself (especially your right wrist) and the power up there in the "fun zone", particularly in the lower gears, is a critical skill that Silverback riders must master in order to fully appreciate and enjoy all of the Beast's capabilities.

I've piloted an R3 with the bigger power package and frankly don't have either the cojones or the self control to have more than the 200 RWHP and 175 ft lbs of torque than I enjoy on my everyday rider.

Personally, I wouldn't "play" too much with the kind of neck-wrenching snap your bike has until the weather and your tires warm up some, as they are the mitigating factors for staying connected to the roadways, i.e., better traction.

Look more carefully, Clint. I think we have Naomi Watts' husband lurking about! BTW, happy St. Patty's Day...

He's a real biker, too!
