Okay, so that was pretty corny... but that's what it felt like riding to work this morning! After months of not getting to ride for one reason or another.. Riding the 45 mile ride to work was a blast!..
Glad you got out, over here I have no Rocket...only rocks as far as the eye can see. And what rockets we do have are normally aimed at us...so I'm not interested in those at all.
Enjoy the cold ride...at least you are in the wind...did I mention I'm sooooo jealous of you guys.
I sometimes wish that I lived in the city so I could feel safer riding at night. Between the deer and the wild hog explosion going on, it's just not safe. If I were homeless I could survive on road kill alone around here.

Sounds like you would be the target demographic for one of those new infrared helmets. I don't remember where I saw it, might have been on TV ... but they were cool as ****. It was part of some stuff about driving safety technology. It had a HUD that shown on the inside of the visor and displayed animal body heat through the bushes and off to both sides. It highlighted intersecting movement on the peripherals as a warning they were running into your path. Of course they didn't say how many thousands of dollars they cost.
Just like all other technology, you'll have one someday for pennies made in China.
That would be cool. In ten years I have hit three deer and had two run into the side of two differnt vehicles. In some spots on the road the Juniper trees (big bushes) are only 15 foot from the road, so you don't have much reaction time. At night the best you can hope for is to see their beady reflective eyes in the distance so you can slow down before they run out in front of you. The hogs you don't see till your right up on them, especially the black ones and they can weigh upwards of 400#. To me it's just not worth the risk riding at night, as much as I would like to....Guess I'm just a puss
A conductor at work hit a deer on his full dress hardly at 40mph two years ago, he was out for around 9 months with a broken hip, leg and wrist. The insurance put the bike back together for **** near what it cost new.
He kinda hates deer now.
