Finally bit the bullet

11 years!!! What your secret, do you live on the top of a mountain and bump start it down the hill?

....I have my suspicions gents.....nowhere did Fred say the battery was actually from his rocket...could easily belong to some other apparatus

Yeah I think I'll keep switching mine out a bit more frequently than that, just getting stuck one time because the battery was shot would cost more than the $80-ish a new battery costs (if you get an AGM, not LiFePo4).

The Yuasa in my Daugters Honda Fit Sport croaked 3 times. And that is a puny 1.5L. The Mad Scientist in you had the UASSA terrified that you would be futzing with the Electrolytes so it behaved it self. Props to that Yuasa....I always have them last a few years then I just throw them through a random neighbors picture window. Keeps things exciting in a boring golf community where everyone is asleep at 9pm...

On a serious note...I went with a East Penn USA made AGM batt(They make them in the DEKA brand, Big Crank and for the real winners H-D...Same batt 2.5x the price.

Be rolling your way soon Mad Scientist...Wifey and I are still looking for a home in Ottawa County near the Lake....

There goes the neighborhood!

PS...Anyone notice the new battery tenders weigh about 1/3 the old Schumacher Speedcharge...The Chinese have figured a way to eliminate the AC-DC transofrmer with ground dissident bones or something.

You have to be Crazy! 11 years?? OMG...3 years tops for me and then it's gone. If I ever make it to Spring Lake I'm going to have to look you up. I want to see how you ride that Rocket with a straight jacket on.

I know Fred's secret!

He removes the battery after every ride and stores in a hermetically controlled velvet lined chamber until needed again.

I lost track of how nany times i replaced mine already
