I hate having to be the nice guy all the time okay as no one is offering you a loaner i will gladly let you ride my 2005std or 2011 Carp Roadster all I ask is one of your V8 bikes in return:D

If you ever get to Vegas I'll let you ride one. We can go around the lake (LAKE MEAD) its a nice ride, only takes about an hour. There are only a handful of people that have ever ridden a motorcycle with a V8 in it, you won't ever forget it.
 
Why does it take so many days to get an OK? The shop can't even order the parts until it gets an OK. The OK can take 3 days to 10 days for an answer, after that it will take at least 3 more days to get the parts, after that the work will start which is bound to take at least 2 or 3 days. I am not normally a patient man but its completely out of my control so all I can do is SNIVEL, lol. In a way its a good thing because its out of the garage along with my 1938 Buick which went to a paint shop today. With just two bikes left I have no excuse but to start organizing the garage a little better. As far as the Rocket goes you guys on here have me not worried very much. All so far think it will be warrantied and many seem to understand the problem technically so that if there is a warranty problem I still think I'll get the help to fix it. Its 115 degrees here in Las Vegas so its not much fun to ride locally, if something comes up that sounds like fun we can ride the Boss Hoss or the V8 Chopper. i like the Triumph so much that this issue hasn't dampened my enthusiasm at all about the bike.


I've been waiting 5 weeks for a fender and a few bolts...no sign of the boat yet....12 week wait for parts is not unheard of in my little corner of the world :confused:
 
Dave, I don't see what year your R3 is, but I know that Tiffany at Freedom got my $3K+ stator replacement covered by Triumph a year and a half out of warranty. I'm sure it will be covered. Plus, mine had 26K on nit at the time and still covered it. She'll get it done for ya, she always pulls through for me whenever I need her to.

Hi Howard, I see you also live in Vegas and deal also with Freedom Cycle. I also find Tiffany to be good to work with and I find their mechanics to also be good. We are lucky to have a good dealer in our town. My bike is a 2015 with under 4000 miles and I bought it in August of last year so it should be covered. Howard what bike do you have that a stator cost 3000 dollars to replace?

Dave, I agree with the Freedom assessment, best dealer I've ever dealt with. Bar none. The stator was about 300/400 bucks. But, the engine needed to be pulled to replace it. It was all labor. I have an '11 R3R, btw.

So was it three or four hundred for the stator and then 2500 labor to pull the motor totaling 3000 dollars?
 
Yes, exactly. Though, like I said Triumph covered it well out of warranty. It was about a year and a half actually.

WOW! That is amazing. I bought a 62 TR6 from Freedom in Reno many years ago and I had it on display in the Vegas Freedom Cycle last year for awhile. They have a nice place here in Vegas and Mark the owner tries to do right by his customers. He puts on a free barbecue once a month no matter what kind of bike you ride. I should know what they are going to do about my bike this week. Her is a picture of the 62

TR6 that I had on display, you might have seen it there. After I bought it from Freedom many mods were made along with fresh paint. It had a five speed gear cluster installed in the four speed case, also had a late model Norton clutch. It didn't have a battery at all. This was the nicest pre unit Triumph in my collection, it was great to ride. I had several pre unit Triumphs, mostly Bonnies but this TR6 was just the best I ever rode. I sold it last year along with all my collection, most went to a museum in California but this one went to a girl who restored bikes for a living, she rides it.

Beautiful bike, no question. Mark is singularly the best business person I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. It would fill a small novel to describe all he and his employees have done for me. Can't say enough. Maybe we can meet up at the August bbq?
