Eastern Beaver Ignition Switch Relay

Has anyone installed the EB ignition switch/headlight relay on their Touring? My son and I installed it on my 07 Classic about a year after I gave it to him with a set of very clear installation instructions authored by Mexican several years ago. It looked daunting at first but turned out to be fairly simply.

I just received my kit today from Japan. Unlike the last one I bought, it came with no instructions. I found them on line but they are general instructions.

Installation

Does anyone have any Rocket specific instructions which address the H4 socket wiring?

Not hard to do even without instructions. You need to connect the positive and negative wires from the EB kit to the terminals on your Battery. The relays will fit up in the headlight shell. Unplug the H4 connector and plug EB plug into it. Take the other provided EB jack and plug it in your H4 bulb.

You will need to raise the tank and work backwards from the headlight shell to get the wires from the shell to the battery.

I wish it were that easy and perhaps I'm making it too difficult. The other one I installed was fairly straightforward but required wiring to be spliced into the harness. What I have to determine is which HR coupler option to use, or perhaps I don't.

Unless you have the wrong harness it should be simple. You have two H4 style connectors and 2 relays on one end of the wiring harness and on the other end of the wiring harness you simply have terminals for putting in your battery. No switches to deal with as the relays trigger on the lights for either high or low beam with power coming directly from the battery and no longer through the switch.

Most of my time was spent running the wires through the opening in the shell under the tank and back to the battery. Easy hookup in the shell, but there is a lot inside the shell so you have to kind of tuck things kind of out of the way.

No splicing as I recall. Direct battery to shell and swap connector around.

That's how it worked on my 08 R3T, except I got kit with extended leads so relays are under tank, easier to install

Sounds like a good plan. I purchased a spare relay, just in case, and that's why I kept everything in the shell. Easier to get at if one died and I hate raising the tank.

Well, how did it go? Did you get it installed?
I have a 2010 R3T and installed the EB H4 kit last summer. Just ran the wires to the battery terminals and swapped out the plug in the headlight. Real neat and quick. Had to move a few wires in the light bucket, but had enough room for the relays in there. I'd just put in an LED bulb, so I had already explored that part of the bike.
