Had mine a week, turned around on drive way same thing damp grass, and arse up. Thank god just a slip fall to the right, planted the leg, and pulled it up. 10 minutes after I put it back in the shed, my right leg felt like it was broken, thanks god just pride and muscles were hurt.
Had mine a week...backing into a parking spot that was a little unlevel...bike started to go over and I bailed. Crash bars kept it from going all the way over and I had it back up in less than 10 secs where I quickly put the stand down and walked away lest anyone notice
Only once for me. At the gym and Battery died. Dumb ass me thought I could push start it. Ran my ass off, hopped on, dropped into 1st, wheel locked and over it went. No damage what so ever but everybody in gym decided to leave at that time. Tried as best I could but couldn't get it back to vertical. Received some help from some guys with silly grins.
Yeah, i did the same with my first Rocket.Stalled her trying to jump quick into heavy traffic from a side road.Dunno wether it was from embarrasment or the fact 100 car drivers were staring but I threw it back up like it weighed nothing.Joined the rush and flew outta there.
QUOTE=Mittzy;174764]Richard is right,
I dropped mine (in front of everybody on the way to Hervey Bay) and picked it up like it was a bicycle........But if i waited till i calmed down i think i would still be there wrestling it....[/QUOTE]
Me too, but not yet this year, thankfully. Beauty of the crash bars on the R3T is that it barely goes past 45 degrees, easy to pick up, if it ever laid flat I bet it'd be another story.
i never dropped a bike in a silly way, just my first one twice, once when a car (driver texting, i should have stayed back ) jammed on in front of me and i grabbed fistful of front on a greasy diesel covered road in heavy rain, front went out.
and the second time when a car crossed my path i did more damage to the car im thankful to say.
other than that there was a couple of almost moments but none on rocket yet thank ****
My recent off/acident proved the worth, just yesterday I spoke to Police officer who informed me that I actully exacuted a very nice forward flip over the bike when Avoiding hiting the car, the bike started to high side as I nearly had it pulled up but went back down on to left side flicking me up into the air, the Engine Crash Bar saved the bike from major damage to the left side the handle bars bent and the exhaust badly scraped and the top box cracked in corner and received road rash. The foot board has some minor scraping under it
I once dropped my 383 ci Stroker Boss Hoss (1400 lbs) at the bottom of my driveway. Luckily there was a workman at my house who helped me lift it or I'd still be trying. I did injure my shoulder trying which required almost a year to resolve.
Luckily the foot pegs and crash bars stopped any serious damage.
