Dropped the rocket tonight

Another place to watch is stopping at toll booths. There is always oil in the center plus everyone stops and their air conditioner drips and makes a slippery mess ! Almost went down a couple times at them. :eek:
 
Since this thread is about dropping our Rockets, I have a burning question.
As you may likely know I just completed a 6 week ride-a-bout with my R3R.

The bike performed flawlessly - EXCEPT - after a few days out on the road, I found myself cussing the side stand every time I had to do a 180° in order to keep it from tipping over, which was several times daily. With each passing day, I cussed more and louder. Words that are censored on this forum began to spew from my mouth. :eek:

The final straw was while half way into the trip, on the other side of the country packing my $hit up one morning. From behind, I was merely pulling a **** cheesy bungee over the rear end (right to left) and the friggin' bike fell over! Did I say that I HATE the side stand ?!?!

Any others with this problem? Any suggestions or how to's on correcting the issue?

I have my 1" shorter Hagon Shocks, so my R3R stands pretty much upright - I am very conscious of this, It is lessened tho with the Bridgestone Exedra Max on the rear
 
Why is it that it seems pride is the last thing that heals. Glad that's all that was damaged!:eek:
 
I bought mine because of it's low center of gravity. 8 years and still undropped. Where as my Trophy 1200 was top heavy and dropped twice. My 675 Street triple is a different game. It handles like my 750 Norton.
 
I know the old classics had the prong that you catch your foot on to lower the stand
At the end of the stand which gives it a much larger foot print to sink into the hot tar
Where as on the rest the prong is halfway up the stand
That might help with it not tipping over
