Left home on Tuesday 26th for a trip I had wanted to do for a long time.
Penticton to Prince Rupert by motorcycle and then on the ferry and enjoy the boat ride through the Inside Passage from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy on the Vancouver Island. That alone was a 16hrs ride on dead calm waters with humpback whales, killer whales and dolphins riding alongside. The weather was misty with no wind and sometime trees just a few hundred feet away on each side of the boat ...unreal!!
Incredible scenery.. another ferry from Port Hardy to the sunshine coast... via Comox. More ferry passages to Vancouver and back to Kaleden. Took some pictures but they cannot impart the sense of grandeur the ferry ride gives. I cannot download pictures from the phone for some reason. I will try later.

An unusual sight happened in Prince Rupert which is as far as you can get on northern BC without feeling lost. As I was riding in town I found a R3 Touring parked near the hotel ... could not believe my eyes. Had to take a picture. Tried to find the owner, no luck.
All in all 2800kms on the roadster only one rain shower incredible sights and all that in 8 days. Back home now I will try to post some pictures if I can download them..as some captains asked to see what northern BC looks like. BTW on the road from Terrace to Prince Rupert (90 miles) we rode past two glaciers coming down right to the sea ...again unreal.. only one pic came out ...the crow and the eaglet!!

For a moment - I thought this was going to be a bit pervy. Inside passage - ooooeerrrr.

I like watching cetaceans too. Exciting and yet very relaxing. Effortless and majestic.

Aahh the ethics and conundrum of humans killing and eating cetaceans vs crustaceans and vice versa with dead cetaceans usually consumed by crustaceans after consuming crustaceans throughout their own lifetimes except for the occasional Jonah!;):D

Karma and the cyclic wheel of life eh!!

Wife and I did the "pervy" passage about 10 years ago on a Norwegian Cruise Line ship. Visited Prince Rupert but got no further than dockside and then into a small boat that took about a dozen of us to a nearby island to learn about the flora and fauna and the "hominids" that lived in the area thousands of years ago. Fascinating stuff.

that island would have been queen charlotte island renamed recently as haida gwaii

Would have been a great ride ...interestingly enough, we have a 'Port Hardy' here in Durville island in the Marlborough Sounds and also 'Queen Charlotte Sounds' also within the Marlborough sounds....
