Did I hurt my engine?

If you ship the bike north to my place, I will personally verify that the bike hasn't been overheated or damaged. Of course this test will take several months to complete. I won't charge you a cent to check it.... (out of the goodness of my heart). (Why ship North??? because us Canadian's are honest people.... Would you respect someone with a name like Warp with your bike????? )

All kidding aside, as already said, no issues running the bike with nothing in the overflow tank so long as the rad is almost full.

In the old days when no vehicles had overflow tanks, we filled the rads 3/4 full and ran them like that. No overheating issues. If you filled them too much, they would puke coolant out the overflow tube.

Welcome from Minden Nevada Captain. As explained previously you won't have any problems provided the radiator is full. Also most if not all here are motorcycle enthusiasts and like talking about motorcycles regardless of brand. Welcome to the community.

The way the cooling system works when you start the bike from cold as it heats up it will push any air in the radiator out to the overflow tank.upon cooling it will suck coolant from the overflow tank into the rad. Eventually all of the air will be eliminated so keep an eye on the level until it stabilises.

Thank you all for the kind words and great advice. It's much appreciated and I'm thrilled to see how many responses came so soon.

Hey, the tank is for overflow?
If you fill the overflow, where will the overflow go???
