Dealership Problem - Need Your Advice

I'd go to the manager or even the owner of the dealership.letthem know circumstances. Also as they the squeaky wheel gets oiled!

Fill in your 'Location' field in your profile and perhaps someone could steer you to a more cooperative dealer. Of course that doesn't help with your current problem, but it may be of use in the future.

What a load of BS! Bring in your $15,000+ bike that you know is free of damage get it back damaged. I don't think so. I also believe they should replace the damaged rim with a new one. Don't let this rest until they replace it or give you the cash to buy another one exactly like it.

They owe you a new rim and the old rim and the old tires, then you can sell them. I'm guessing you paid list price for the tires. That's why they charge so much, so when they f up they man up and fix it. Pretty sneaky that they did not tell you about it! Don't take any excuses they messed up not you!

Obviously the mechanic had a hard time mounting the 240 rear tire and as a result chipped the aluminum rim.
Same thing happend to my relatively new rim , not at the dealer but a MC tire shop , i really had no comeback as he was mounting a DS for me and had never done it before , didnt find damage till a week later

Thanks to everyone for responding. We all seem to agree that the dealership should replace the rim. I'm headed there in the morning with the hope that they will resolve this problem. I'll post an update regarding the outcome.

The dealer I bought my bike from told me they are well aware of the damage forums, Facebook etc can do to their business very quickly if they treat people poorly.

Update...First of all I would like to thank the members of this forum for your input and support. You were right there when I needed you.

This story has a happy ending. I spoke to the owner of the dealership and he apologized repeatedly and assumed full responsibility for the damage and promised to do whatever it takes to make this right. He even put it in writing. He was a perfect gentleman and made it perfectly clear that he values my future business. He told me the tech that worked on my Rocket is very skilled and that the blame for this damage was due to their machine failing to protect the rim properly. He furthermore said that he would take the necessary steps to insure that this kind failure didn't repeat itself again in the future to anyone else. He is clearly a "Motorcycle Man" who totally understands the passion we all share for them.

How refreshing to find that there are still REAL MEN left in the world that say what they mean, and mean what they say.
