I recently bought one of these custom fender bibs to try out as custom RHS sideplate cover between engine and frame downtube. I have taken some pics fitted on my 2010 R3R but need to upload them (a 1st for me so be patient).
TRIUMPH America Speedmaster STAINLESS fender BIB *T & S/CROSS *

Great communication with seller Steve:

"Mate as per the e-bay listing - these are originally made & shaped to fit America/Speedmaster rear guards.
The Total Length top curved edge to bottom point = 350 mm.
Width from top curved edge = 75 mm with a gentle 15 mm taper to Bottom shoulders of point width = 60 mm ... Hole Centres = 275 mm
Can be easily straightened or curved to suit your needs."

I thought I would have to cut and modify the 'T' and Southern Cross one but it fitted without change to replace the RH plastic filler plate between the engine and sidecover using the top mounting hole. Only had to use a slightly longer fixing bolt than the hex allen head one supplied - same thread as existing mount hole.

They do 3-4 other designs as well:

Custom flames I am not personally into:

Kiwi national symbol silver fern leaf motif - a very 'tribal' look: updated 10/01/19

three stripes - see my other thread where I used a pair them for saddlebag lid top embellishers

Flash doesn't help, I may have to retake them. With natural shadow the cutouts appear black.
The Southern cross is fully visible just and not cut off by the header collector - whether that will be the case when I fit the CES headers soon to arrive - who knows.

Sorry.. don't like it.. I don't like that you can see through the T, and I especially don't like the fact that is doesn't fit straight with the frame tube.. Personally I think it looks bodged on..

"I never learned a single thing from someone who agreed with me."

Thanks for constructive honest feedback, you are correct amigo about the frame tube alignment, I was originally going to cut and reshape and drill new holes to align but when the existing hole lined up and it fit I got lazy.:rolleyes:

You have convinced me to improve the fit as originally intended. If I trim the top edge and remove the top hole, re-drill a new one top and bottom so it aligns to the frame tube it will look much better and raise the 'Southern Cross' cutout. Being stainless rather than chrome it is easy to work with the bench grinder and finishing with hand draw files.

The cutouts do 'black out' without the camera flash but easy to try a dark backing while I'm about it.

Yep.. Being honest is always best... We all like different things.. God knows my rocket would not be to everyone's taste!!
But.. Make it fit right and it will be cool.. Better than the standard black plastic.
