Cooling fan

Guess I rejoiced too soon ? After a 30 mile round trip I fitted my new relay , started her up and after a time , success ! The fan cut in . It cycled on and off for bout 10 mins and I smugly turned her off . Replaced the side panel and tidied the garage , after an hour or so I ran her again and guess what ? No fan !
Checked fuse all good . Checked relay , all good there , bypassed the fan and that worked too so moved on to checking coolant temperature wires . All seemed good there too so started the engine , no fan but engine management light instead ! I now have a steep learning curve ahead and can avoid tune ecu no more . And so to the questions ,
How do I ensure I am ordering the correct lonelec cable ? Got myself a windows laptop ! And which is the easiest path to removing the sensor ? That little sucker is well tucked away . Have any of you guys found a shortcut ? Wish me luck ! :banghead:

Where did you get the relay & have you a photo of its details?
There are different types of 12v relay and also ratings.
Also just to check basics what's the position of this relay on bike?

What's the rating on the fuse blade itself?

When you say bypassed the fan and it's fine, do you mean put 12v direct onto the fan..?

Re tune ecu be sure to order from lonelec site and nowhere else even if it says lonelec cable.
With the check engine light on you're probably gonna need that cable to fix all this.
Or perhaps the rooting around has disturbed something hence the ems light

Tune ecu will also show u engine temp so you can check function/approx calibration of the sensor without having to dig it out

Also @mexican if he can shed any light on why his went a few times?
