Has anyone on this forum ever completed a coast to coast trip on their Rocket?
Cheers

idk64 has done is a couple of times.

Ogre has as well. There were several that rode out to Lake Tahoe from the east coast.

Is there a most in depth inquiry in there somewhere?

Yes, me Did it in 2012 when I first got the R3T. We did about 8,800 miles that included a few days in Sturgis. My avatar is showing Devils Tower in Wyoming on the trip.

During the summer of 2015 I will have the opportunity to take 2 months of the summer to do a trip. The idea would be to ride east from Alberta Canada to the east coast of Canada. Head south to the states and then make my way to the west coast (LA). Finish along the California and Oregon coast back to Canada.

I was just curious, if you were to do the trip again, is there something you would do to your Rocket to make the trip more comfortable or enjoyable or was your setup good enough?

YESIREE!
Just this past June - July, I did 11,500 miles coast to coast while criss crossing the USA from the NW to the SE for six weeks.
Best trip of my 50+ year road riding adventure.

Need any info- happy to assist.

I rode my 2012 R3R with stock seat, bars and pegs. I'm a stiff and sore old turd and managed to ride every day except four (two for a rally in Nevada and two waiting for rain in Maggie Valley). Averaged over 300 mile per day over 6 weeks. Do not miss the dragon and the Cher a hula and Georgia and Arkansas and Colorado and . . .
heh heh heh

I've done it a few times, and will possibly be doing it again next year. If you are doing any long days of interstate then a good windscreen and an AlaskaLeather sheepskin on your seat are very helpful. Birmingham to Santa Fe was probably my longest single day.

You better head off soon - you've aged by 3 since the start of this thread

I've been thinking about this as well...anybody done an iron butt? For some reason I have it in my head that I want to do the coast to coast iron butt. I know, sounds ridiculous but there you have it
