Just use the exhaust header right up by the motor block. You can't smoke and ride anyway and the header gets hot enough to light a smoke, your rainsuit (been there done that) or your boot soles if they contact the exhaust system (been there done that too).

Mine glows at night, gets a pumpkin color and always has. Plenty enough to light a Marlboro or your epidermis if it gets too close.
My KLR glows too and so does my quad. Even my rototiller glows.......The Bonnie don't but then it has custom bent heavy wall tube that's Jet-Hot coated.
Must be the cheap, ethanol laced Michigan weasel pee.
I can see mine glowing on the highway if you pull over at night or when I close the garage door when the bulb burns out. Was a little shocked when I saw it the first time, I had just installed the PCIII and thought I had done something wrong.
