Definitely eliminate the PC3 from the loop but they didn't really test the TPS the way it needs to be tested either. A simple bench test does nothing, it will almost always test out fine under those conditions.

Try Owl's deal: Tell them to replace it. If it fixes the problem, they pay for it, if it doesn't, you pay for it. Also, make sure they order the right part, the part number changed with an updated version of the TPS that has blue guts inside the little hole.

Did they only test the voltage? Did they reset the idle stepper too? Did they clear out all the adaptives? Did they balance the throttle bodies?

The latest TPS part number is; T1245113

Don't ask me how I know.

Thanks to Owl I have one on order.

I guess a little information on how the PCIII actually works is in order here. It is my understanding that no matter the tune loaded into the ECU the PCIII will make the same changes to it. All it really does is intercept the signal from the ECU and then modify it by a set variable. This is the tune that you pay for on the Dyno, it remains constant in the PCIII until you have it re-tuned and it doesn't change with the ECU tune. There is really no way of knowing how your bike is performing now with the ECU tune changed short of going back to the dyno guy and having him run it again and build a new Dyno tune for it.

If you want to see the changes that the dealer did to your bike you have to pull the PCIII off, then do a 12 minute tune but I don't think that this will fix your problem. The bad TPS's sometime do not show up in the tests and all indications are that it is a faulty TPS and that it is intermediate in nature. So I would pull the PCIII off and try it without it, when this doesn't solve your problem, leave it off and head back to the dealer and try to explain to him in a calm voice that the TPS failure is a known issue with the Rocket and you would like to have yours replaced, before it gets you or someone else killed. If you have any problems with them pointing them to this site will not help but a phone call to an attorney and pointing him here just might.

It is worth while checking the crank angle sensor for metal shavings from the starter and ring gear. If metal is present on the magnet of the sensor it can create high idle problems.

I agree w/ Gothlander..... on another thread here which I cant seem to find at the moment someone stated they had the high idle problem and this fixed it. It's worth a shot before going through all the other B.S. and it only takes a few minutes to do.

It takes 30 seconds to check the TPS on a meter. My dealer can do it as I pull up on the forecourt without taking a single thing off of the bike.

Bishop is right - the meter that they use does not detect a TPS fault, only if it is showing the right voltage at rest or at tickover.

Your symptoms are classic faulty primary TPS.

When I had my TPS problem the only issue was a high idle speed the bike ran great in every other way. When the idle was high I could stop turn off the bike and restart it and it would run fine. Triumph did say that not all dealers knew how to analyze this issue and to have them call triumph and they could walk them through it.

My TPS had the bike stalling at idle ( junctions etc) unless I held a few revs on with the throttle. It also ran rough at low speed. All was cured with a new TPS :D ( still had to pay for the ****er tho :x )

I find that this approach will focus their mind adequatley.

Once again, I'm sorry to say, you are dealing with Village idiots who claim to be Triumph mechanics! Raise their hair up off their forehead and see if there is a big tattoo of the letter "L", which stands for "LOSER"! If so, they are fired Harley mechanics!
