hey there fellas,
Thought i would let any prospective buyers of progressive suspension know about the choice of springs.I bought a pair of 440's12.5"standard springs back in august and was finding i was bottoming out even with the preload on halfway, solo(the roads in the south of Tasmania,Australia have some doozy potholes,bumps etc!).I checked on this site somewhere and found that i should have checked out what spring rating i should have with the shocks .It turns out if you're around 100 kilo(210pds.) or heavier , you need heavy duty springs.Progressive suspension really looked after me with prompt service and sent me some heavy duty springs on warranty and wow what a difference!I deliberately sought out some potholes ,rather than swerving around them in the usual manner ,and i got a firm bump but no bottoming out and that was on the lowest preload possible.bloody excellent!Ride comfort on the highway is still good as well.best mod to the bike i could imagine,now to design some quick detachable saddlebags and a sissybar & rack.Thumbs up for the fellas at progressive suspension!brilliant after sales service!javascript:emoticon(':D')
Very Happy

hello hypporider , i confirm what you say.
i've a pair of progressive with standards springs and they are too soft for my weight.(110 kg) and my pillion( 55 KG);
i need to change springs and i want to know if it is possible to change only those.how do you do to make that?
thanks :roll:

Hi Serge,
Just go to the progressive website www.progressivesuspension.com and contact them there.I used warranty as mine were very new.You can buy the springs off them i guess ,unless they are prepared to help you under a warranty.You take the springs off with a spring compressor, which i made out of two 6mm aluminium plates with a large hole in both plates and two long lenths of 5/8 endless thread on either side of the plate.two nuts at one end of the endless thread and one at the other which you wind up
.One hole is smaller than the other cos they have to fit over the shock body but still contact the aluminium collars that take the spring.One circlip at the bottom of the shock which will come off once you compress the springs. Easy and safe.Or you can pay someone else to do it !
