Central Sump Bolt Oil Leak

Yeah the gasket had that protrusion. It surrounds the leaky bolt hole as it should. That metal to metal design really doesn't make sense to me. I honestly don't know how more of them don't leak there. The leak is extremely slow. It won't be a problem for the rest of the season. If I wipe it every 3-4 days it won't even drip on the pavement.

As far as really minor deformation of the sump… dunno. But I don't want to spend the money to find out. It's just not a big enough problem to spend $300 on. If I come across a good price on a used part, maybe I'll pick one up to try as a last resort.

I'm thinking I'll open it up in the fall and try a bit of gasket sealant between the metal to metal part.

Or more teflon tape.
