Carpenter 210+ VS 240+ on the street

I m running the 2012 roadster 240+ setup with the BRUTE HP CARPENTER pipe with 3 heat sheilds and dont have any heat problems now with the 3rd sheild on the megaphone I wouldnt give up 25hp and run any other exhaust why give up all that HP ?

Carpenter kit raises torque above 2500-3000rpms compared to stock, turning the rocket into a sports bike eater if you use the revs available
Some prefer to power away from idle, that's not the quickest way down the road, but to each his own.
Correct if your looking for the fastest and quickest way down the road then youll love the the Carpenter modded engines that will rev to a 9000rpm rev limiter and run faster in 3rd gear than a stock bike will run in 5th

The short answer? Because I had bought the pipe for $1800 back when I was sensible enough to think the Carpenter packages were too expensive and added unnecessary power to an already massively powerful machine. The Reband exhaust looked (to my eye) better, came with a fitted heat shield, and based on the results some of the folks here got produced better HP and Torque than the Brute with a stock engine and a retune.

Spending time on this forum (and with the bike) has convinced me that too much is never enough, and after WASTING thousands of dollars at different shops trying to get what should have been a simple pipe and air upgrade running properly I decided that Bob was the only man on the east coast I trusted to do it right. If I was going all the way out to NJ to get my bike cleaned up and running right I figured I might as well get one of the packages, if I was getting one of the packages I figured I might as well go for the 240+ but after dedicating money for the trip down and back and coming up with enough cash to pay for the package, I simply didn't have the resources to get his exhaust.

I'm currently waiting for the redesigned Carpenter exhaust, which reportedly curves differently at the headers a bit and reduces direct contact with the right leg. When it becomes available I'll be picking one of those up, getting it coated and trying to figure out a heat shield. According to Bob there should be no reason to retune, since the PCV map he put on my bike is identical to what they use for their exhaust.

This summer I'll "limp along" with only 222 hp. This winter, I'm getting my seat re-upholstered (to change the green slash to blue), getting my rims recoated blue, and putting on the new Brute, possibly with blue headers fading to black at the collector and a blue (cut) bearclaw to balance it out.

Thanks for the greetings and input. Being new to R3, I have no clue what the various screens are or where to get them (Triumph dealer, or?) Also, I've seen reference to PCV in some posts. Call me "old school" but PCV was something on old cars that needed to be replaced or cleaned during a tune-up (Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve.) So, what is this?

Get one from Chris here: http://www.custom-sculpt.com/new Bike page.htm

He does plain jane stuff too, mine is as follows, they're slightly wider and sit further forward than the Triumph ones and so provide for things like a sat nav etc, well worth it:

Power commander 5 lol pcv for car dont worrie there is enough old (farts) I mean wisdom to remember that here as well

Do I need a PCV if Carpenter has remapped/tuned the bike?
