Hi, I have. I had the dealer install the pannier brackets. I did have the bigger semi hard panniers but sold them. I prefer to use a cheap set of canvas bags from Amazon modded to fit the brackets. They hold more and if the get messed up it is not a huge money loss.

I love to tour and camp. Started with the III Roadster (a little better carrying capacity), and now still getting out fairly regularly with the 3R. It holds just enough. Go for it!
