2008 Rocket III Touring
Hey everyone - Been riding my newly-acquired R3T around the Midwest US Harley epicenter (Detroit) for the past two weeks and enjoying the "Nice Road King..wait...what the **** IS that?" looks. Former (and future) Harley rider and really loving my 2300cc anti-Harley. Been riding for 30 years and love all bikes. This is my seventh. Love the Triumph and looked for months before deciding on the R3T. This one fell into my lap while actively pursuing another one. 2008, 5,000 miles, $9,000 even, like new. Black and chrome: my fav combination.

Have questions about tune (have read threads here), windshield (Clearview 19" recurve...about to order), suspension (Progressive 444...about to order), tires (have new-ish Metzes on mine), cruise (Breakaway...about to order), heated grips, tour pack, and gel seat(s).

Any Detroit-based R3T riders around or do I have to carry the torch around here? Hello everyone...

Thanks HansO. Where did you get that cool jacket?!

Welcome , nice bike and nice looking property around you .Not the Detroit i was imagining as an Aussie .
Thank you Dave64. Much of Detroit would probably surprise you. Parts of the city are not places you would want to see (or be) but the surrounding suburbs are some of the wealthiest areas in the country. Took this photo from a city skyscraper a few years ago. Most Detroiters can't even recognize this as Detroit. It USED to be...and WILL be...a great city.

G'day and Welcome from another of the Aussies .. Think that Pawnbroker TV show has blackened Detroit's image around the planet :sneaky:

Ha!! Hardcore Pawn. Right. I imagine no city would fare so well if it's reputation was resting on the character of the local pawn broker. No offense to pawn brokers. Las Vegas has certainly benefitted from THEIR pawn broker show: Pawn Stars.
