Brought a gun to a knife fight...

Welcome aboard mate. I love how you describe the way you feel about your R3. Pretty much all of us do too, while retaining the capacity to remain friends with owners of lesser bikes (mainly because we feel sorry for them). I've studied a bit about the rise and fall of Detroit. Tough times, but a city is always much more than it's headlines. Good to have you join us.

:DHello GYOW and welcome from VA. Great photos and a good looking ride. Be careful in the knife fight though; knife welders don't have to reload...

Welcome, GYOW! I've got the 2010 R3T. Bought with 8,000 miles on it at the end of March. I've put about 4,000 on it so far, and I can't believe what an incredible piece of machinery/art this thing is. With HansO's help, I've derestricted the R3T using TuneECU. I thought it would be more difficult than it was. I've also bored the baffles out of the stock exhaust, and have installed an under-seat K&N air filter. I almost $hit myself the first time I twisted the throttle after retuning. I imagine you'll do the same. Can't even believe the difference in response. I've got a friend in Detroit who collects/restores vintage bikes. Great potential for the Motor City.

Welcome GYOW!! I"m from Milwaukee and I outta know,
Those 103 Harleys, are certainly slow,
Sit at the light now, they rattle and shake,
It sounds really loud, but, WE know its fake!
She's ready for green, ya see his smiling face,
You know in your heart, it won't be much of a race,
In his pirate clothes, he looks pretty smart,
When you pull in front, just let out a fart.

Welcome GYOW from Gods country in Northern Michigan.

I went with the Hagon Nitros on my 2013 R3T. Lowered about an inch so I am flat footed at stops.

I would change the front springs too.

Welcome from Florida. I scored a nice 08 T myself a few months ago. Great bike. You will enjoy yours. I too have a MAC. I just ordered from ebay for 139 bucks a refurbished Dell laptop with windows 7 and wifi just for my bike and car tunes. Might be a good option if thats all your going to need. I couldnt see spending 3-400 bucks when all I needed one for was my tunes.
