Breaking into 2022 gt ecu

I got a BT moto tune. When I saw they were in Mass. I was going to drive up there and have them load the tune. Since I suck at that stuff. They had a place closer to me that did it. ECS performance. I'm going back there next week to have them (ECS) load a new tune BT moto sent me for my new slip on and manifold and DNA filter. Nothing about them seemed shady to me. Not cheap, but the price was right there on the website. So take it or leave it I guess. They sent a handheld tuner, and if I had a windows computer and more skills I would have loaded it myself. Lots of guys used them for their BMW s1000's on another website I'm on. Brentune was their old name......

I wasn't aware that I could use tune ecu. Thought I was locked out.
I have a 2022 GT, any problems?
What would I need to gain access?

From what I gather only the 2024 and 2025 are locked out to tune ecu for new maps. For earlier years you will need obd mx+ bluetooth reader to load maps from an android device.

Tuneecu has “broken into” the Rocket up to the most recent (Storm). Don’t know if this is 2024 or 2025. With this you can load Penner’s unrestricted tunes or find a dyno tuner to make a custom map. BT-Moto has also made custom unrestricted maps on Rockets and other brands. They are reputable. But expensive.

I think 2024 had some older style (mine) that were like the past 3 or 4 years, and some '24's were storms, with the locked ECU's and 2 O2 sensors, and an extra 15 HP from the factory. I purposely got the older style leftover because it was easier to load tunes that would give you more than an extra 15 hp

Has anyone on this forum used Tuneecu on a 2025 R3? Don’t the latest ECUs have red 6-pin OBD connectors? Is this Euro 5+?

Tuneecu has always published maps for compatible makes and models. There are no new maps for the R3 - the latest maps (vins after AV5456) are the same as the original ones (up to vin AV5456), still restricted.
