Has anyone out there installed the Triumph Black Teardrop mirrors on their R3 (Triumph part A9638085)? If so, can you post a pic or two?

I have the tear drop but in chrome

Love the mirrors as far as looks but unlike the stock pancake style mirrors that were rock solid at all RPM's, I find these to vibrate poorly between 1900-2200 RPM. Other than that tiny window, they are solid and have a much greater field of view (width).

Must just be yours cos i have them and mine dont vibrate at all but then i also dont have the standard bars mine are attached to fat custom highway hawks maybe they absorb more of the vibration than the standard bars:cool:

When I installed my chrome teardrops I was having vibration on one side, took it off and found that the shim got a little twisted and didn't seat properly for some reason. I got a new set of shims from the dealer and reinstalled, no more vibration.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I've read somewhere that the teardrops may cause two problems for taller/bigger riders:

1. They do not extend as high as the stock mirrors do...which causes a "lower" field of view and the mirrors do not have enough adjustability up/down to compensate for being "shorter" mirrors. The only way to correct this would be adjusting the housings by twisting them back a bit, which I do not want to do.

2. For bigger riders (i.e "wider"), there is a problem with not being able to fully see around the rider because the mirror stalks are shorter and more compact.

I think I read about both of these issues on a Thunderbird forum, so not sure if they translate to the Rocket. Anyone had either of these issues?

Im 6ft 1 and 250 and i have no problems
I actually can see alot more with these mirrors than the stock they r the best mirrors ive had on any bike
I bought the silver and a month later they came out with black
