Bigger difference

Thanks for all the input. I think I'm going with the lowers first, and will keep the Clearview on the back burner. The Roc's tucked away for the winter :)() so there is the chance that I'll have both to slap on when she comes out of hibernation.
I'm not a huge fan of the looks of a windshield on a bike, mine's only on if I'm hitting the highway or riding in the cold, but given the choice I'd take the Clearview over the Windvest. The Windvest looks more like an afterthought to me than a purpose-built piece.

+1 on that. The Windvest looked awesome on my Hondas but more like a ruptured duck on the R3. My bad!

I'm 6'2" with a +4" taller than stock replacement sheild from Cee Bailey and actually look through the screen. The optical quality is excellent with zero distortion. The cost was $190 and worth every penny, I really like the extra protection on long rides and the head buffeting is all but eliminated. Here is a photo.

Lowers. I also have a Clearview 1" over stock. I've tried Windvest (18 x 16) + lowers and it didn't work as well as a full screen. The Clearview is better than stock because it is wider and doesn't have cutaways at the bottom.

As noted, buffeting comes from below.
