Well, that's exactly the right charger for the PC625. Utilizing that charger and a new PC625 my R3T never failed to light right off, even in our bone chilling, low 40 degree mornings.

Sorry, just couldn't resist one more shot. I'll be singing a different tune in August.....

When I called and asked why I recieved the wrong charger the guy started a song and dance saying that Odyssey chargers were defective and most of them didn't work out of the box. "oh, this is a much better charger than what odyssey makes ... you will like it much better" Too **** bad I'd have to bolt it to the inside of a saddle bag and run the wires to the battery. Who did this dude think he was bull ****ting?

We still haven't gotten up to freezing, been 10 days or 2 weeks I suppose. Single digits or low teens at night, mid 20's in the day.
Last Friday, leaving the 625 on it's own for 4 days, it would not crank. As long it it's on the charger, no problem.

We had 10 this morning, but should see daytimes of 35 by Wednesday, mid 20's at night.
Drifts and aroung the driveway it's about 3 feet of snow. Flurries every day, the roads never really dry.
This is one long winter, and lots more to go.

My kids in Florida said they're seeing 20's, but with no snow, that would be heaven.

im thinking about installing an ODYSSEY 625 in my ROCKET 3 TOURING
will it slot inor do i have to modify the battery box
my mechanical skills are akin to homer simpsons so i am looking for an easy option
will my OPTIMATE 4 charger be suitable for the 625

I'm thinking there is probably some manufacturing tolerance in those battery boxes. Some have reported that the 625 won't fit without modifying the box, mine dropped in with just a little coaxing.

Can't speak to that charger. It seems the Odyssey batteries require a specific charging algorithm. If that one meets the specs it should work. If you search the other site you'll find a fairly long thread on Odyssey batteries in which one of the members discusses the requirements in detail.

It was tight but mine went in OK. I'm not sure about the Charger either. It's worth a try. If not, the Odyssey Ultimizer works great!

The Pc625 drops in just fine, it just doesnt go to the bottom of the box without taking it out and knocking down the side flat. It's a heavy guage steel box and takes some coaxing with a large hammer but doing the mod is the best idea since it allows the battery to sit flat in the tray and not perched on an edge. You give up the tool kit in the R3's either way and if you don't knock the tray down the seat won't fit in some cases. There are those that just dropped it in and get along fine, I went and hammered the box so it fit down into it better.
Seems the charger is also a requirement, especially if temps drop below freezing. My Jr worked fine until the freeze, dry cells evidently take more juice during the initial charge.

Only a very minor point, but the tool kit in the R3T resides in the saddlebag and not under the seat. Since you need the tools to remove the seat, under seat storage would be a bit problematic.
