Basic Tuning Video

OR - Fit a PCV and do a different map for each gear ? - **** I wish I had access to a Dyno.

Do the high lift cams make a monster difference to emmisions?

High lift cams will make a difference, but just with HC-emissions.

With a PC5 and gear selective Autotune you will just still need an unrestricted base map.
The stock O2-sensor has the right socket for the wideband sensor and you can make a good map without a dyno.
But it is far easier and probably less expensive to manipulate the gear sensor and make just one map on the dyno using Tune-ECU. It should not take much more than an hour.

My base map is far from standard. Changes to secondaries and F/L switch I just let the PCV/AT sort the fuelling.

Have you touched the ignition timing at all?

Yes.
It is I3 overall and a few small changes.
Mostly a little more advance at lower revs.

Don´t worry. Your Rocket Roadster will love you if you do it to her.
Just give it a try.
I have been in the Airforce from 1979 to 1981.
Three months in El Paso.
Loved it too.
I also was stationed in El paso 1975 and 1976,

I'm still learning this and I'm puzzled about the o2 sensor.
With the o2 sensor being left active wont it lean the tune out over time? In other words, other than emission control considerations could the o2 sensor be disabled for a better result?

The sensor just works in the low throttle areas.
So it can´t do any harm at wot, where you really need richer mixture.
And the AF ratio tables are set to 14,1.
That is a compromise to still have some control, get a good milage and make it a little richer for smoother running.
