Balance Beads vs Lead Wrights

I balance my wheels with lead weights from HarborFreight, using a static balancer from the same place, and have never had a problem. So I'll probably keep on doing it the same way.

+1same as idk never a problem, Also if new tire has the yellow dot on the line it up with valve stem and you should n't have to balance the tire either unless you ride 130+.

I'll be the first. I use balance beads on all my bikes(when I remember). Seemed logical that as the tire wore down:evil: The balance would alter. The beads rolling around in there are thought to compensate for that. After I started using the beads instead of lead, for whatever reason, I never had any bar vibration any more.
The best reason is forgetting to tell the shop they are in there:( and watching the beads flow everywhere. Like an iced parking lot... Need to have a good relationship with the shop FIRST.:p

The good thing about beads or ride on you don't have to clean the tape residue off of the wheels.

I have been using Dyna Beads exclusively for the past 12 years on two worked up VTX 1800s and on my R3 with no complaints and consistently excellent tire wear. The only trick to them is proper installation so that you don't foul the valve stems. They make an applicator, which I purchased at my local HD dealership, Lord help me, for about 10 bucks. It makes the install goof proof. There's no reason for me to ever go back to those ugly tire weights.
