Avon Cobra Chrome

I'm done with Avon. Not Chromes, but the original versions. I have 2 fronts that got small leaks that Ride-On couldn't seal up. Wound up with a plug in one. Other holding, so far, added more Ride-On. Both tires, "like new" which is why I'm trying to save/get some mileage out of them. Will probably go to Bridgstone next go round.

Did Avon hire the firestone engineers?????????? Avon does not have a very good track record with MC tyres (rocket size anyway) could not pay me to put one on my bike.

I’m removing an Avon Chrome on the front of my old Rocket but as pleased with it. No problems at all and it still has plenty of tread after 6000 miles. I’m put on that rear in reverse that 1olbull recommends just to try it out. A new rear Exedra Max going on at the same time. I did get 1000 more miles out of the Max than the stock tires I was running.

That is odd. Avon did the recall themselves and informed world wide of recall. I placed a little over 9,000 miles on the recalled back tire. Did notice some lateral small cracks developing and replaced it. I like the Avon Chromes very much. Good wear and traction. Good all weather tire. Actually grips better under hard acceleration then the Bridgestone. Call me a bit odd but i like running matching tires front and back. Tried the 140 up front with several different tire set ups and feel more comfortable with the 150. Seems to make the bike more stable on the highway. Been through a couple sets of tires (66,000 miles since 2015) Even tried the dark side for a bit. Have tried all the popular tires for the Rocket and like the Chromes.

I would think the dealers were aware of ghis recall and removed faulty ones with unaffected ones. Otherwise huge liability. I will call my dealer Tuesday and ask. I know, good luck with that. "We haven't had any problems...."

Check date code on tire. Believe all were replaced prior to shipment.

Well upon our inspection today after 3500 miles on the TFC I’m almost on the wear bars on the rear.

No it worked well is just wearing a little fast.
