I see with interest that there seems to have been a tyre surface compound problem with Avon Cobra Chrome Tyres. Can anybody confirm if there is still a problem or have they solved it now?

I think so. BTW, you spelled tires wrong. You probably drive on the wrong side of the road, too.

Unless it's something new then the tire problem was rectified around a year and a half ago. It related to the rear tire only. The problem was within a 5 month period and supposedly all of those tires are destroyed/gone/ banished from the face of the earth. I haven't heard of any new recall and if there was someone on here will speak up.

Sonny got one about the same time and put 10k on his before replacing so I'm taking a chance. I'll never use bike bandit again. They just ignored all correspondence and never returned calls.

Tire started to show cracks running opposite of the tread. Very small cracks but after time became noticeable very easily. Keep a eye on it. I use to use Bikebandit often but not anymore. Hermy's is my go to parts place now. Tires i buy online from whoever at the time has the best price. Will be working on my third back tire and my second front tire after rebuilt. Average on back tire has been around 12,000 miles. Running stock sizes due to mostly Highway riding . Really like the Avons a lot.

I'm still rolling on a recalled rear tire! Over 11,000 miles on it. It's done me well, hasn't blown up yet! haha
