G'day Rocketeers;

The proposed date for our Great Australian Rocket Ride is 14th to 16th September 2012 inclusive.

So much to be done but working on it

If every one agrees I would like to have any profits or financial gains from this event be donated to the Make A Wish Foundation for terminally ill children.

proposed dairy of events.

Friday 14th September; Arrival day at your leisure if I have an early indication of number by the 29th February 2012, including your accommodation choices, Hotels, Motels, back Packers, Resorts, Caravan Parks, tents, or cabins I will post a list of accommodation venues Internet details for approximate costs.

Friday night we could all share a reasonably priced meal at the Hervey Bay RSL or the Hervey Bay Boat Club, subject to numbers we may be able to get our own dining area.

Saturday 15th September 2012; for those interested early morning ride around Hervey bay to see the sites and let the locals know we are all in town, will advise route at a later date.

After that for those interested mid Saturday morning polish and shine time, to get ready to put our machines show after lunch. There will be a entry fee for this to pay for trophy's & raise money for our charity.

Prizes best bike, best trike, best mods, farthest travelled, oldest rider, youngest rider, smallest rider, biggest rider, most bling, and open to all bikes and all ideas and suggestions for trophies. Subject to numbers trophy sets for rockets, triumph's, & others. Note some great vintage Triumph bike up here.

Saturday night we will definitely have to have a Rocketeer dinner & presentation night, ideas men, BBQ, Spit, Club, Restaurant, or Pub.

Sunday morning Rocketeers Breakfast, for those wanting to hit the road early leave at your leisure, the rest of us lets talk bike, mods, advice, & after lunch leave at your own leisure.

In appreciation that some Rocketeers may decide to make a holiday of this event and decide you would like to arrive before the 14th and or leave later than the 16th Cathy and myself will share our city and surrounds with a ride here and there.

Am looking into and must say have great interest from our local Triumph Dealer to have new model and demo's over the weekend. I am still looking at getting motorcycle accessories, clothing, leather goods, eye wear, & motorcycle supports stalls.

Toying with the idea of trying to get a tyres dealer, Bob Jane, Good Year, Bridgestone, Avon, Metzler, even Dunlop, don't care who. But would like to have a variety of tyres and information for our bikes.

especially for those wishing to make it a holiday there is plenty to do in Hervey Bay, Fishing, Fraser Island, Whale Watching and buckets load more.

All as I can say now is the dates in, need to know tentative numbers ASAP.

If you have contacts that may be able to help with advertising, promotion, & financial support please let me know better still come on board and help make this ride a reality.

Looking forward to your input thanks Marty

Hey, what's wrong with warm weather? It's f***ing frezzing here at that time and while we'd be heading into warm, we do have to come back. I'd say avoid June/July and Jan/Feb.
