At Dealer Yesterday...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, back in the day, weren't many, if not most of the Mods crowd riding itty-bitty rice burners and Vespas?

Oh, crikey, Nat!!! At near 20 stone you best be captaining a double-hulled ship.
HMS ARK ROYAL ! You say that like I am heavy ? You should meet my big brother !
Cheeky bastard .

I love you , man! (No, not that way - I ain't no mod, mate)
Again you clearly have a handle on the mods vs rockers thing. I did not want to insinuate that mods were of the feminine persuasion, but in my hmo they sure looked it. A lot like the hipsters, skinny jeans wearing metrosexual fairies of today. OH crap, did I go too far? Mods we're scooter riding fags.

True but the word itself is distinctly incorrect and offensive to more than a few over here, given our day and age. N'est pas?

Cork soakers (and carpet munchers)are people, too!

Perhaps it is, or perhaps it is not. Either way I was enjoying a moment of levity with a fellow compatriot or not. Now that I know I have offended, my humor will be my own.

Yes your absolutely right Rick , it is horses for courses . Most modern bikes do seem to cater for the 5 foot 8 inch ideal of a motorcyclist , especially the Japanese sports and hyper sports bikes . But then again , they would do as the racers they reproduce for the roads , are piloted by jockeys ! Bigger bikers have always had to stick to large cruisers and HD had the lions share of that market . The rocket was aimed at the opposite end of the scale to which the Bobber is now . Most of the guys I ride with , both big and small all say the same thing about the Bobber , which is they wouldn't want to trade their current bike for one , but if unlimited funds were available , would like to have one sat in their garage just because !
Didn't the legendary Marlon Brando ride a Triumph Bobber in the Wild One ?

Brando was a Brando was a bobber of a different sort, too, wasn't he?
