Rocket III Touring 2014 (previously 2008)
Just traded in my 2008 Touring for a new 2014 Touring w/ ABS. Wondering what anyone's experience is. Fish

Why yes Fish, rode mine to work this morning in 25F temperature. I can't really give a whole appraisal yet as I only have 4200 miles on it so far. To date, I had the TPS adjusted first week 9engine kept dying when I rolled the throttle off), and a fog light replaced at 900 miles or so, no other mechanical issues. I have discovered the rev limiter in first through third gear is a pain in the bum and that ABS really does work (riding around the DC area, I get to exercise it several times a month it seems). I have ridden all day single and two up with no worries at all either on the flat lands or up on Skyline Drive in the low mountains. I have ridden in a slow moving parade with no worries (again, riding around the DC area, one gets lots of practice riding/walking the bike in stop and go traffic). I will soon add Tors and a K&N air filter but probably won’t do any other mods till after the warranty goes out.
Since I haven’t ridden in hot weather, I have no point to compare there. But as for cold air, the bike loves to take long deeps breaths of it! I hope this helps some.

That is excellent to hear! I had about 19K mikes on my '08 and it's heartbreaking to give her up, but I really think I got a lemon. Problem is I kept fixing each problem over the last 5.5 yrs. But then it got hairy w/ gears going out on me taking a left w/ oncoming. I truly hope my future problems are minor. When it's running properly, it's amazing! So it was a love/hate relationship that necessitated a divorce and remarriage.

Having had a nasty back break lock-up when applying very little pressure to back brake (car in front of me spun outta control), I'm looking forward to testing out the ABS.

No problems starting her in the cold? I did and got the excellent Scorpion battery. But decided to transfer a few parts over, including my train horn, but went for the new batt just cause it's new.

Glad to see you're in DC. Let's ride soon!

QUOTE=idk;497342]Congrats! I trust that all will go well with your new bike.

btw, it looks like a bunch of us may be getting together to go to the Tiki Bar at Solomons in a few weeks to get together with Attomsplitter. Keep an eye out and join us.[/QUOTE]

IDK, thanks buddy! You were spot on regarding the detent spring. It was broken and lost, but they found it and replaced it on the '08. Hope these new gears function! Let me know about the ride...Fish

Fishbein, No troubles starting at all this winter and I have ridden when our temps dropped into the single didgits. I have no garage so the bikes sits under a cover all night and in some of my posts you can the cocer, covered in snow. I am very pleased with it in all regards so far. Did you get yours from Triumph Manassas?

Blastedbones-yeah, just a little spring, but I had so many issues including multiple GPSensor problems, and I'd rather not ride wondering when my gears will go out on me next, I opted for a new bike. Got 9K on the trade-in, well above blue book trade in value.

Boog, really good to hear the batt is good. I wasn't able to start despite a constant tender plus under 53 degrees, until I bought the scorpion batt. Took a chance in opting for the new stock batt. Ever hear of Hippo Hands? I ride thru winter too (not in snow or Ice tho). They are cheap & amazing!!
