Are there any other more affordable options out there without worrying about clutch slippage? Any of you guys using BMW synthetic15W50 or Golden Spectro 10W40 semi-synthetic?

I use 4T, you can buy it at WalMart now.

Also... do a search on "Oil" and you will find a lot of opinions and info.

I am well aware talking about oil types is a surefire way of ticking off the forum old hands.

Don't know if its finger trouble at my end but when I done a search using "oil" I drew a blank

I agree

Stay with the Mobile 4t,
The bike was designed around it. Saving a few bucks a year isn’t worth possible trouble down the road. Wall-mart sells it bye me for a LITTLE cheaper than the dealer.

Got some Mobil 1 4T at Autozone today.

The one hundred mile round trip to the nearest Triumph didn't hold much appeal with it being 30degf and snowing.

Thanks for all your assistance

This is from Mobil's website.

Question: Motor Oil for a Triumph BonnevilleI have a 2005 Triumph Bonneville. The factory recommends Mobil 1 Racing T4 fully synthetic API SH or higher and JASO MA, 15W-50. Locally I have found Mobil 1 Extended Performance 15W-50 that meets APISL/CF but does not mention JASO spec. Does this satisfy the factory specifications? If not please recommend the specific Mobil 1 product that does. Thanks for your help. -- Paul Weidmann, Boulder, CO

Answer: Mobil 1 Racing 4T 15W-50 is marketed specifically for Triumph motorcycles. Another choice is Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50, which is designed for motorcycle requirements and may be more widely available than Mobil 1 Racing 4T 15W-50.

Oil threads don't offend anybody..:D, it just that we already have a bunch of them so maybe the info you seek will be in one of those. If not, you could resurrect one of the existing threads. Having 27 oil threads won't help anyone... but if we must :bch:

Plus... I guess I did sound a little rude there didn't I?? Sorry, I shouldn't post at 7 am..
