Evening folks a Question.
I have been cleaning the bike and noticed that some of the bolts have corroded. They only look like cadmium of zinc plate but a white residue has formed. Particularly the three each side holding the fork leg in the bottom yolk and the engine mounting bolts( the fancy ones)

They will not clean up as the coating is too far gone.

I have tried claiming from triumph dealer under warranty. The dealer got told to tell me to clean them. I have escalated it to the next level and have received the same reply.

The bike is immaculate apart from the bolts and has been cleaned with 0 PH snow foam so I think it is in my opinion cheap shoddy bolts.

Is it just me???
Anyone else have this problem??

Can we as a forum take collective action???

Cheers Jerry

Got photos of where and which bolts?
These were a few sample photos I sent to Triumph. The dealer inspected the bike and took them.
Thing is the engine casing bolts are ok even underneath the pan so I think cleaning is a bit lame.

I know your bike is far newer than mine, but from the beginning of my ownership of a new R3T, I have had corrosion problems. Triumph has bigger problems too, like understanding what happens to a bike in the rain. It seems so much of the bikes are not rain proof or even rain resistant. One would think with the weather reputation of the UK that Triumph would the the king of water-proof.

It almost looks like salt residue stains and pitting from the roads. Salt will eat into that cheap bolt plating if left unattended or not cleaned. Did the guy you bought it from ride on salt covered roads or maybe you. That may explain it.

I agree.
The previous owner never went out in the rain and was extremely fussy the way he cleaned it. Bearing in mind it is only a year old and covered few miles. If we as triumph owners are having these problems re tiger etc we have the opportunity to do something about it.
If everyone emails a particular triumph address then that would put pressure on them to do something about it I dont mind co ordinating this if it makes it easier for people.

are you sure these are not just water spots because of "hard" water being used when washing? Using some white vinegar could solve that.

One reason I try to keep avoiding water on mine. Only once so far caught in the rain.
