A Poor Man's PIAAs

heheheh, those lights from wally world look familiar...

They come with a mounting stud, remove that and toss into your spare parts bin, remove a radiator button bolt and slide it in your mounting bracket, then attach the light..

super easy....

Dang Reg, I was gonna make it sound hard and look difficult and offer to do it for a nominal fee plus travel expenses.;) Thats basically it and I did steal the idea from someone on this site, wink, wink. I am truly amazed at how bright these little lights are. I wired them into the circuit for the parking lights in the headlamp with a relay until I can find a suitable switch, if the bike is on they are on. I agree with Heretic after my crash in Sept 06, I don't think you can have too much light on the front of a bike, if it is flashing or "modulating" so much the better. It's funny the DOT, or some odd gubment agency thought that motorcycles and motorcyclist would be much safer if the headlight was on if the bike was running, and pushed the law through so we would stand out more. Then the same group or another (doesn't matter) says that all vehicles should have them on all the time and pressed for day time running light legislation, thus in turn negating any benefit we gained from the headlight law. So I run a headlight modulator on the headlights and the little driving lights may get a separate one just to make me more conspicuous.

One thing one the little cheapie lights is the trim ring is a bit suspect and could quite possibly come off. It was suggested to me by a member on the road star warrior site that I frequent who has the same lights to run a bead of clear silicone around the trim ring and kind of just glue it in place. I'm going to do just that. As it is if I only get one season out of the lights, for this price I'd buy another set next year, but I don't think that I'll have to.
